The challenge
Redevelopment of existing site at 200 Pentonville Road, to include insertion of new built element integrated within the existing building structures.
The approach
Initially we provided advice to Blackstone and its partner Generation Estates during the development of the scheme and prior to the acquisition of the existing buildings. Once our joint client had chosen its development partner, our role was to provide support in the negotiation of the development agreement, which comprised a bespoke guaranteed maximum price contract including innovative profit and value sharing mechanisms.
The result
ARCADIS AYH's ongoing role, under the development agreement, has been to act as the Client Surveyor, providing advice to our joint client Blackstone and Generation Estates in respect of time quality and cost issues. Scheme comprises an outreach centre, affordable, keyworker, and student housing along with an element of private residential housing. Development includes basement car parking and overall 17 levels of mixed use accommodation.
