ARCADIS AYH Strengthens Project Management Service and extends global reach through acquisition of APS Group

ARCADIS AYH plc, whose parent company is ARCADIS NV, the international consultancy and engineering company, has today announced that it has completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares of the APS Group Companies APS Project Management Ltd and APS Cost Management Ltd in the U.K. and 70% of APS Gulf FZ LLC in Dubai.  Overall, APS group employs approximately 70 people and has gross revenues of over £9million.

APS was established in 1985 and specialises in project management, cost control and consultancy services, focusing on the Commercial, Residential, Retail, Leisure, Telecommunications and Financial sectors.  APS operate from offices in London, Bristol and Edinburgh, and is active in various locations worldwide.  The acquisition provides ARCADIS AYH with its first regional foothold in the South West.

Along with the increased coverage in the UK, the APS business strengthens ARCADIS' Worldwide Project Consulting offer, as APS has an established Middle East business based in Dubai under APS Gulf FZ LLC.  The acquisition enables ARCADIS AYH, ARCADIS and APS to support their existing clients who have global property portfolios with an expert worldwide support service via the ARCADIS WwPC network.

Commenting on the acquisition, Peter Vince, Managing Director of ARCADIS AYH, said: "This clearly demonstrates ARCADIS' commitment to the future of the UK business and marks the continuation of an exciting period of growth.  APS bring new and complementary services to our business, and will be an integral element in delivering our vision to be the Consultant of Choice for our Clients and our Employees."

Eric Wallace, chairman of APS Group said: "This transaction represents an excellent structure for APS to maximize the growth opportunities the business is currently experiencing.  The APS brand will remain, and operationally it will be business as usual.  Furthermore, there is increased opportunity for our management and staff to develop within a truly global organization.  Our clients will benefit significantly, as together with the combined strength of AYH and ARCADIS, we will be able to offer professional project management and consultancy services on a global basis through ARCADIS Worldwide Project Consulting".
