Vision & Core Values
Our Vision Our vision is to be the consultant of choice for our clients and our employees. This vision is underpinned by our core values and will be achieved through our investment in our client development, people development and professional development strategies. Our Core Values Our core values underpin everything we do and unify our beliefs and actions. In developing our values, we asked our employees to define how we do business. Our employees embraced the ARCADIS values of Entrepreneurship, Integrity and Agility and defined these values and behaviours that support our vision to be the consultant of choice for our clients and our employees. Corporate Social Responsibilities Business Continuity and Information Management ARCADIS AYH operates advanced ICT procedures, data management and security including client confidentiality systems. Professional Accreditation All our employees are appropriately qualified to undertake the activities they perform, with many groups ISO 9001:2000 Quality Standard and Investor in People certified, along with RICS and CIOB professional membership. The Community We encourage our directors and employees to become involved in charitable and community projects and we annually support the Great Ormond Street Hospital. The Environment As part of our goal to achieve ISO 14001, we have set targets across the company to reduce waste, transport and energy usage. Many of our projects are BREEAM or NEAT rated.

Objectives

- To increase knowledge and understanding of legal requirements and current best practice by providing guidance and training

- To assess the impact of current policies and practice on the working environment and advice provided to Clients using quantifiable measures where practicable, and to have regard to legislation, current and
anticipated future best practice in developing future policies

- To monitor and report performance, including targets

- To monitor and report performance, having regard to the principles of BS7750 Environmental Management Systems

- To review and update future plans in the light of past results, legal requirements and information about best practice

Actions

Pollution
- ARCADIS AYH will monitor discharges and emissions to air and water
- Assess what action is required to reduce the risk of pollution
- Prepare appropriate action plans

Conservation
- ARCADIS AYH will monitor and reduce its consumption of raw materials (e.g. paper and make use of recycled materials)
- ARCADIS AYH will monitor and reduce water consumption

ARCADIS AYH will advise suppliers of its policy to monitor the environmental impact of products it buys and uses to avoid wherever possible, the use of non-sustainable resources (e.g. tropical hardwoods) and to seek alternatives.

Waste
- ARCADIS AYH will monitor and reduce waste arising from its operation and will promote waste recycling
- ARCADIS AYH will arrange for the disposal of waste in compliance with the Duty of Care

Transport
- ARCADIS AYH will make more use of new technology to reduce the need for inter-office journeys

Energy
- ARCADIS AYH is committed to a policy of energy conservation and are endeavouring to reduce energy consumption by 15% over five years
